Sino- Sudanese Traffic Revisited

The replica of an ancient wooden Chinese junk (large ship) named Lu meimao or Green eyebrow has set sail on March 24^th on a 40 days voyage across Chinese port cities starting from Gingdao in east China up to Hong Kong , Macao & Sanya in Hainan province . It will then sail to 17 countries & regions in Asia & Africa . The debut voyage commemorates 600^th anniversary of the seven voyages of Zheng He, a Muslim navigator & diplomat in service of the imperial Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644). Zheng He fleet, according to Chinese ancient records, traveled to 30 countries in Asia & Africa between the years 1405 – 1433.

To the obvious correlation of the south Arabian & Southeast Asian shores already conceived in the conference motto, I ventured to add, for relevance, the Red Sea littoral, with special reference to the historical Sudanese sea ports Aidhab & Suakin, as hosts of recurrent Hadramis migrations in connection with Southeast Asia since pre-Islamic era down to modern times.
